ENGINEERING CERAMICS

Nitrasil engineering ceramics

Nitrasil is an exceptional engineering ceramic known for its superb inert properties, making it suitable for numerous high-temperature and non-ferrous molten metal environments. Its minimal wetting by molten metals makes it particularly advantageous for aluminium contact applications. The formulation of Nitrasil is lightweight yet exhibits excellent resistance to thermal shock and thermal cycling.

Composed of durable silicon nitride, Tenmat’s Nitrasil engineering ceramic provides superior thermal insulation and electrical insulation properties. Unaffected by induction currents, it is versatile enough to be machined into complex shapes. Major application fields include induction heating, brazing fixtures, high-temperature analytical equipment, and non-ferrous molten metal handling, such as metal particle atomicoloration.

The material’s robust qualities include a low expansion coefficient and outstanding resistance to thermal shock and thermal cycling.
