The worlds leading trade show for transport technology
This September, Tenmat took part in Innotrans, the world’s leading trade show for transport technology. Taking place every two years, Innotrans 2024 was held between the 24th and 27th of September at Messe Berlin, Germany, in what was the largest display since the show’s launch in 1996.
Over four days, 2,940 exhibitors occupied over 200,000 square metres across 42 display halls. Divided into five key themes, the segments comprised of Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction. With a focus on digitalisation and sustainability, this year’s event also debuted the AI Mobility Lab, an area dedicated to AI-based solutions.
Returning to Innotrans, Tenmat exhibited in Hall 20 located within the Railway Technology section. As a leading supplier of premium composite components for the rail industry, Tenmat was in a prime position to showcase advanced material solutions for both the passenger and freight rail industries.
European Sales Manager – Rail Business, explained:
“Innotrans is an important show for Tenmat to attend because it is the largest and most important exhibition in the rail sector in Europe. Therefore, all significant current and potential clients meet here in one place.”
With a large manufacturing site in the UK, Tenmat produces standard train bearings and wear parts alongside bespoke solutions for specialised applications. Tenmat is also the only company worldwide to produce genuine Railko and Feroform parts for the rail industry. Products include friction damper bushes, centre pivot lines, side bearer liners and brake linkage bushes, amongst many others.
Tenmat in the Rail Industry
Tenmat products are well-regarded in the rail industry because “they stand out above all for the quality of the material, which is reliable, has a significantly longer service life, and reduces noise when operating on the railway, all of which result in higher safety levels. In addition, they meet the relevant compliance criteria, are approved by the railway authorities, and are specified by the large majority of ECM owners as a recommended material for the production of new cars and subsequent revision repairs. In the long run, this results in a saving in future service costs.”
As the meeting place of the world’s mobility community, Innotrans is a key opportunity for Tenmat to highlight both products and services for the global rail industry. With an established customer base, key approvals and significant industry usage, Tenmat has established itself as a leading name within composite components.
Throughout the four-day event, the Tenmat team met with visitors to impart technical specifications, highlight new innovations and create and foster ongoing business relationships. With significant experience in supplying the rail industry, both passenger and freight, the Tenmat team displayed a wealth of knowledge regarding the benefits of using composite components, especially compared to alternative materials.
Jaroslav said the highlight of Innotrans 2024 was to “meet in person existing clients, meet new potential clients, and get a quick overview of possible news and events that will affect the railway sector in the near future.”
As part of the larger Diamorph Group, Tenmat was also joined at Innotrans by representatives from Permali and Tufnol.
